Destiny and Seth Huls Wedding

Hello, I'm Michael Gordon, a professional photographer in the Los Angeles area.  Last year, I was asked to be the photographer for Destiny and Seth Huls wedding, and I jumped at the chance!  Destiny and Seth are a young couple who have found true love in their 20s, which is quite remarkable.  I have never seen a couple more compatible and truly in love with one another, and capturing their wedding was an unbelievable experience that comes once in a lifetime.  I would say that Destiny and Seth were my favorite couple to photograph because the love that they had for one another was clear in every shot, they required minimal direction, and they knew how to have a lot of fun.  Plus, it is clear from the photos that they had a ton of fun being photographed as well.

Destiny's dad  is helping Seth out with the tuxedo.

Typically, one will need to direct the bride to pose in a particular way, but Destiny was truly photogenic, so minimal directing took place.

Indoor photography is always a challenge because of the issue with lighting.  I tend to like the background slightly 'darkened' when shooting indoors.  It creates more of a 'film look' and looks quite remarkable.

Candid moment just before the bride and groom are married.

You may kiss the bride.

The couple holding hands just after being married.

I love candid moments like this that require a fast hand to get the shot because things are moving very quickly.

Seth spontaneously picked up Destiny.  It was one of those remarkable moments that truly showed the great chemistry that the couple have for one another.

The jump shows the sense of trust that Destiny has for Seth.

Since the couple was quite young and open to interesting ideas, I decided to try a levitation shot where Destiny would use her special powers to levitate Seth.  The photo was quite remarkable!

Perfect shot of the couple just minutes after being married.  Great, natural pose and shows the optimism and strength and determination of the couple.

Every wedding is different and unique.  When I take photos, I try to work with the nature of the clients.  It is the client's wedding, so it is my job to make the moment captivating and interesting in the context of the actual event.  That is, I focus on showing the sense of optimism, joy, excitement, and love that existed at the time.  My photographic style would be a mixture of photojournalism as well as romantic imagery, with the aim of showing the best that life has to offer.  Cheers!

Photographing a wedding in June.

A wonderful young bride contacted me to ask her to photograph her wedding in June. I promptly agreed.  I look forward to photographing her wedding!

What makes good photography?

Great photography captures important moments in time.

Great photography captures emotions.

I love to capture a unique moment in time at Disneyland.  Sometimes I get lucky with a very beautiful shot like this one on Main Street.

Sometimes a black and white shot can create a sense of nostalgia.

Dark shots are sometimes some of the most beautiful works of art in photography.
